I would love to know more about the life of Grandpa's Mother, Lydia. I wonder how old she is in this picture or if she was married yet. I'd really like to know why she looks so unhappy. Maybe she had to hold so still for so long, her face just stayed that way. (Mother was right!) If you have any insights, let us all know!

ReplyDeleteI didn't know my Grandma Feller. She passed away April 2, 1917, at the age of 55, at the Proctor Hospital at Peoria , Il. The children were notified on Sunday to be at her bedside. They boarded a train at Rankin and got to Peoria before she passed away. Two months later , their brother Albert was swimming in a creek behind their house and drowned. He was not married and 20 yrs. old. At the time Grandpa Feller was 24 yrs. old and married one year to Grandma. that must have been a hard time., to lose your mother and brother within 2 months of each other.
