Days of Courting & Marriage

I am almost positive Aunt Is and Uncle George are already married in this picture. (It was on the same page as Lonnie's baby picture.) I'm pretty sure Mom and Dad were not yet married. How's that for facts? Mom!?!

Feller Reunion

OK you cute little fellers,

I am walking in "Is's" footsteps and planning a Feller Reunion Picnic!!!

After tabulating the results of the survey, and coordinating schedules with Gwensie on "where Mom will be and when", the picnic will be on SUNDAY, JUNE 7. Here's the scoopers;

TELL ALL YOUR FAMILY because I don't think I'll have time to send out darling flowery invitations like last year. Note who of your family is NOT on this e-mail list so you can tell them of this VIP upcoming event.

BRING ANYTHING YOU WANT food wise, OR feel free to just COME and not bring a thing, especially if you are from afar, because I also inherited my mom's "feed the world" passion, and I will be cooking up a storm, INCLUDING (drum roll) KOOKA BREAD and CREAM PUFFS - so all of you folks who have gotten this e-mail, PLEASE PLEASE COME!

We'll set it for 12:30ish, so mom can visit a bit in church.

One more favor, drop me a line back if you think you will come so I sorta know what's up.

Sue, I feel awful that this is the 3rd choice for you out of three, but it was not working for the other two dates. I'm sorry and want you to come real bad!

I love you all, Bets

Great Grandma Lydia Feller

I would love to know more about the life of Grandpa's Mother, Lydia. I wonder how old she is in this picture or if she was married yet. I'd really like to know why she looks so unhappy. Maybe she had to hold so still for so long, her face just stayed that way. (Mother was right!) If you have any insights, let us all know!

40th & 48th Wedding Anniversaries

Bill and Minnie Barth Feller were married on March 1, 1916. Grandpa was 23 and Grandma was 22. They celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary in 1956. Grandpa was 63 & Grandma 62. On their 48th Wedding Anniversary, which was in 1964, Grandpa was 71 & Grandma 70.

Farming

I cannot imagine how hard it was to farm "back then". I think of how busy we all are now and then I think how busy they were back then.....working, not playing. Bud is on the tractor at the bottom. (He always get his name cut off) The bottom right picture just says "We three" and the middle picture says "coming home from picking corn". (Remember to click on the picture so you can see it better). The bottom picture is Grandpa and Snuff at Old Settler's in Cissna. I think this was around 1981-82? (Maybe Mom remembers) There was an old threshing machine there that year and Grandpa showed us how it operated. He was in his glory!

A Much Younger Minnie (Barth) Feller

Grandpa once told me that these were postcards of Grandma. In the top picture, she's the second from the right. In the school picture, she's in front of the middle desk, with the big eyes. I don't know her age in either picture.

Cousins

Aren't they just the cutes things?! Grandma is holding Bonnie, and Sue is in the swing(Grandpa is swinging her). The picture of Lindy and me came from my personal stash. I am almost sure this one with Mart & Fritz is Dennis and Dean with the 3 v's. Am I right Mom?!?

Just my observation

Looking again at this fabulous picture of the Feller siblings........Why is it that Aunt Is and Aunt Rosella look so fresh, and sweet and beautiful and all the boys look like that cat that swallowed the canary? Does anyone think that but me?
Love, Ronda

from Ronda with love

Hi All,

I have enjoyed the album pictures so much Aunt Rosella! Bill and I had a warm and active spring break in Arizona. I am going to try to attach a photo of a group of people we were lucky enough to have dinner with.

I think of all of Grandma's brothers, Snuff was definetly the most ornery. Counting ribs and cracking knuckles.. He used to make my eye's water when he would pinch my cheeks. Uncle Carl was fun when he would come in the back door on Sunday Mornings and crow like a rooster, but Snuff................I can still hear his laugh. The upper left corner of his lip would turn up and his eyes sparkled.
